Candle Care
Trim wick before every use
It is normal in soy wax for your wick to mushroom. This is easily fixed by trimming your wick to 6mm. This will ensure your candle does not burn hotter than it should, and this will prolong the life of the candle.
Burn time
To prevent tunneling and create a Candles memory, the first time you light your soy candle let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the glass. Never burn for more than four hours at a time.
Avoid drafts
Candles burn best in still air, but if you cannot prevent a draft turn the candle periodically to avoid uneven burning and possible candle collapse. A candle in a draft may also start to smoke.
Putting candles out
It is always best to use a candle dipper or a candlesnuffer, rather than blowing it out, this prevents Wicks from drifting off centre and to avoid wax splash. This will help maximise the candles burn time.
Candle storage
Candles are sensitive to temperature and light. Fragrances containing vanilla may yellow; this is normal and does not affect the burn of the candle.
Keep the burn pool clean
If you get any black soot around the rim of your glass, simply wipe it away with a damp cloth once extinguished. This will be a sign that your wick is too long, trim to 6mm.
General advice
Never leave a candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Avoid burning your candle for more than four hours at a time. Burn candles on a stable heat resistant surface, clear of any flammable materials. Do not burn candles completely, always leave 1 cm of wax at the bottom for safety reasons.
